American actress Anita Hendrie was created in Philadelphia in 1864 to physician William Scott Hendrie and M. Louise Morton. She started employed in the theater in the 1880’s. Anita was an excellent dark haired female who made an appearance in at least 70 silent dilemma films frequently playing maids, moms or wives beneath the path of D.W. Griffith in the Biograph Film Co in 1908-09, producing her film debut as Jessie Marshall in ‘The Supporting Hands’ with Flora Finch in 1908. Her perhaps most obviously part was as the Mom in ‘The Golden Louis’ starring Owen Moore in 1909. She left the Biograph in 1909, moved to the IMP studios briefly in 1911 and won the starring part as the Mom of Don Alvarez in ‘The Key of the Hand’ directed by Joseph W. Smiley and starring Ruler Baggot. Her last display appearance as Mrs. Bennet Allan in ‘The Better Impact’ with Herbert Prior in the Majestic Film Co in 1912. Anita was married to acting professional/movie director David Kilometers from 1902 until his loss of life in 1915. Anita passed away in Brooklyn, NY in 1940 age group 76.
