David Barba was created in Monterrey, Mexico and raised in Mexico Town. David’s father can be Mexican and his mom can be Scottish and he talks British and Spanish fluently. He received a BA from Stanford University or college. After employed in the film industries in NY, London and Mexico Town, he attended the Columbia University or college School from the Arts, receiving an MFA in Film. His brief film Adios, Em virtude de Siempre (2006 HBO Urbanworld VIBE Greatest Brief Film) shot on area in Mexico Town, screened at celebrations worldwide and shown on Showtime in america and AXN throughout Latin America. His feature documentary Pop Celebrity on Snow screened at celebrations all over the world including SilverDocs, Frameline, London and Documentary Advantage New Zealand, Copenhagen and Mexico Town. The film experienced a theatrical launch at IFC Middle in NY and shown on Sundance Route and Logo. Following a success from the documentary, David produced a documentary series before the 2010 Vancouver Olympics known as Become GOOD JOHNNY WEIR which shown on Sundance Route and Logo. Period 2 from the series will atmosphere on Logo design in 2012. David is a creator of Retribution Mass media, a film and tv production company located in New York, aswell as the brand new York City Brief Film Celebration (NYC Pants) in 2005.
