Composer, violinist and educator, educated initially by his dad and the Imperial College in St. Petersburg with Auer. He produced his violin debut at Berlin in 1907, accompanied by a tour of European countries. His American debut was using the Boston Symphony in 1911. Thereafter, he became a member of the faculty on the Curtis Institute in 1929 and became a movie director there in 1941. Conflicting resources give his time of delivery as Apr 9th or Apr 21st, but because he was created in Russia before the 1917 Trend, both dates can be viewed as as appropriate; one date is within the TRADITIONAL STYLE Calendar (pre-1917) as the other is at the brand new Style Calendar followed with the trend in 1917. His initial wife was famed soprano Alma Gluck, among the initial sopranos to create best-selling recordings. He was the half-brother of writer Marcia Davenport, the grandfather of Stephanie Zimbalist, and the daddy of Efrem Zimbalist Jr..
