George Oppenheimer had a prolific profession like a critic, playwright, screenwriter and publisher. A graduate of Williams University, he was initially involved as an marketing publications supervisor by Alfred A. Knopf, before venturing in to the posting business as co-founder of Viking Press (with Harold Guinzburg) in 1925. Eight years afterwards, Oppenheimer transferred to Hollywood, contracted with the composing group of George S. Kaufman and Robert E.
