Pianist (a kid prodigy) and music group leader, trained in London’s Royal Academy of Music. Geraldo 1st fronted his ‘Light Orchestra’ — under his actual name, Gerald Shiny — in the Resort Majestic at St. Anne’s-on-Sea for any five-year residency. After touring SOUTH USA to review Latin rhythms and gather arrangements, he produced the ‘Geraldo Tango Gaucho Music group’ and briefly became ‘The Tango Ruler’ of Britain. By 1933, he led a far more standard dance orchestra beneath the label collection ‘Geraldo & His Nice Music’. He revamped this company just as before in the 1940’s and 50’s, changing it into among the most important American-styled swing rings in Britain, especially after the addition of trumpeter Leslie Jiver Hutchinson, saxophonist/arranger George Evans, guitarist Ivor Mairants and saxophonist Harry Hayes. Furthermore to his prolific broadcasts for BBC radio and several recordings for Decca and Parlophone, Geraldo also sidelined as music director for Herbert Wilcox’s Uk & Dominions film studio room from 1935 to 1940. During Globe Battle II, he required on another work as Supervisor of Rings for ENSA and carried out several trips of European countries, North Africa and the center East. Following the battle, he became associated with music group management, providing ensembles (popularly referred to as ‘Geraldo’s Navy’) to execute on Cunard sea liners. In the middle-1950’s, he became musical movie director for Scottish tv after retiring like a music group leader.
