Wayne ‘Ginger’ Lacey was created in Wetherby, Yorkshire, Britain, on 1st Feb, 1917. After becoming educated at Ruler James Grammar College in Knaresborough, he worked well like a dispenser before becoming a member of the RAF Volunteer Reserve in 1937. He also worked well as a soaring instructor using the Yorkshire Aeroplane Membership. Over the outbreak of the next Globe War Lacey became a member of the Royal Surroundings Force. An associate from the 501 Squadron he offered in France until Dunkirk in June 1940. Through the Fight of Britain Lacey, traveling his Hawker Hurricane, became the RAF’s leading traveling ace with 18 victories. This included capturing down a Heinkel He111 that bombed Buckingham Palace on 13th Sept, 1940. Promoted to Air travel Lieutenant, Lacey changed into traveling a Spitfire within the 501 Squadron.
