Composer and historian Alexander Rannie’s affinity for music and film dates back to his early child years; he began playing the violin at age five and produced his first stop-motion cartoon film when he was eight. Like a pianist, organist and harpist, he has performed in the Pasadena Playhouse, LA’s Reprise Theater Company, REDCAT, Steve Allen Theatre, The Laboratory, Cavern Club, Disneyland, LACMA, UCLA, USC, Orpheum Theater, Los Angeles Theatre, Hollywood Heritage Museum, Academy of FILM Arts and Sciences, Orange County Executing Arts Center, York Theater Company, Abrons Artwork Center, on numerous albums and film soundtracks, and live alongside such inimitable skills as Angela Lansbury, Carol Channing, Shirley Jones, Lorna Luft, Clay Aiken, and matchless “Glee” pianist Brad Ellis.
