Composer and historian Alexander Rannie’s affinity for music and film dates back to his early child years; he began playing the violin at age five and produced his first stop-motion cartoon film when he was eight. Like a pianist, organist and harpist, he has performed in the Pasadena Playhouse, LA’s Reprise Theater Company, REDCAT, Steve Allen Theatre, The Laboratory, Cavern Club, Disneyland, LACMA, UCLA, USC, Orpheum Theater, Los Angeles Theatre, Hollywood Heritage Museum, Academy of FILM Arts and Sciences, Orange County Executing Arts Center, York Theater Company, Abrons Artwork Center, on numerous albums and film soundtracks, and live alongside such inimitable skills as Angela Lansbury, Carol Channing, Shirley Jones, Lorna Luft, Clay Aiken, and matchless “Glee” pianist Brad Ellis. Furthermore, Rannie and his harp possess accompanied performance designer Ann Magnuson in LA, San Francisco, NY, and Charleston, Western Virginia. Rannie has consulted on myriad tasks for The Walt Disney Organization, including the repair of Fantasiatt0032455/combined’s initial Stokowski-Philadelphia Orchestra Fantasound soundtrack, and his interactive masterpieces could be experienced in the Walt Disney Family members Museum in SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA. In 2011 LACO commissioned a genuine rating from Rannie for Walt Disney’s Oswald the Lucky Rabbit brief Trolley Problems (1927), which he carried out from your piano. Rannie’s most recent creation is usually Disney in Concert: A Silly Symphony Special event, an orchestra-with-movie demonstration offering reconstructions of seven Silly Symphony ratings which allows contemporary audiences to listen to live, for the very first time ever, what Walt Disney and his personnel heard around the rating stage from the Hyperion Studio room in the 1920s and ’30s.
