German-born art director, a U.S. resident from 1920, who appreciated a successful profession as an architect in the 1920’s. He designed several significant buildings around Los Angeles, like the Dark brown Derby Cafe, the Hollywood Boulevard Building as well as the Hollywood Palace Theater. Weyl became a member of Warner Brothers, under agreement from 1934 to 1947, where he done two of the very most famous films aimed by Michael Curtiz: Yankee Doodle Dandy (1942) and Casablanca (1942). He gained his just Academy Prize for The Travels of Robin Hood (1938), his general design inspired with the romanticised illustrations of Howard Pyle’s 1883 book “The Merry Travels of Robin Hood of Great Renown, in Nottinghamshire”.
