Mini Biography

Created in London for an American father–he was the London Bureau Main for the Associated Press–and an British mom, Kent MacKenzie started his education within the Uk school program, but finished his high-school education in Bronxville, NY, after his dad was finally transferred back again to the US. While spending a summer season vacation inside a camp in Maine, he struck up a a friendly relationship using the camp’s art counselor, who was simply an Onondaga Indian, and became captivated by the lives and complications of American Indians. Upon graduating Dartmouth he spent a brief stint in the Atmosphere Push, and after his release made a decision to try to get a film profession in Hollywood, arriving there in 1953. He signed up for the College or university of Southern California’s Movie theater Department. His older film task, “Bunker Hill-1956 (1956), regarding the lives of occupants of the fading LA community, was well received and was presented with a screening in the Edinburgh Film Event, winning the Metallic Award. He secured employment with Parthenon Photos, which produced industrial movies, and gained encounter in practically all areas of film creation. In 1958 he got an opportunity to create a film he previously always wished to, regarding the plight and lives of American Indians. The effect was The Exiles (1961), a semi-documentary (not really released until 1961) about youthful Indians living and employed in the rundown regions of downtown LA.
