Marcella Pershing was featured in a number of silent-era two-reeler westerns, all released in 1921, eight reverse Hoot Gibson and two reverse Artwork Acord. The feature traditional western ‘Looped forever (1924)_ was also produced opposite Artwork Acord. While acknowledged in 11 movies, one writer within the silent period, ‘George Katchmer’, feels she was in fact in more. Created Florence Wilkinson, Marcella acquired her stage surname legitimately, since it was the maiden name of her paternal grandmother. Her third great-grandfather was Frederick Pershing, a Huguenot who emigrated from Alsace and resolved a “tomahawk” ownership in western Pa. She was a third cousin of Gen. John J. Pershing, who led the American Expeditionary Push in WWI. In 1922 she remaining moviemaking to marry and proceed to Florida. At that time the Pershing genealogy was released, Marcella had one young child, Helen, created March 31, 1924.
