Miljenko Smoje was created in an unhealthy category of labourers. He completed senior high school in Break up in 1941, but his education was interrupted by WW2 and Italian profession. Smoje joined level of resistance movement and in some way were able to survive both arrest by Italians and becoming kicked out of Communist party. Following the battle he completed college and worked well few years like a instructor. In 1948 he became a member of regional newspapers “Slobodna Dalmacija” and worked well there as reporter until his pension in 1979. Over time Smoje found out great feeling of humour, and a talent to fully capture unorthodox personas. Quickly he became composing humouristic pieces and therefore became probably one of the most well-known writers of this genre in previous Yugoslavia. His tv debut was _Nase malo misto (1970) (Television)_, series about little Dalmatian town and its own picturesque inhabitants. Series was great achievement and still includes a cult position in Croatia. After some minimal works for films and Television, Smoje attempted to do it again that achievement with _”Velo misto” (1981) (mini)_, tragicomic traditional chronicle about his city of Divide. The series was also achievement, but a lot of people still choose his previous masterpiece. Last many years of his lifestyle Smoje spent functioning as satirical columnist for questionable weekly paper “Feral Tribune”.
