Mini Biography

Omar Hashim was created in Baghdad, Iraq, in 1971 and had moved to Britain in 1976 when he turned five years. In 1982, he transferred to Canada where he became a naturalized Canadian resident. Omar commuted backwards and forwards between Canada and Britain until 1989 when he transferred to Scottsdale, Az, after graduating high-school. He examined and graduated with three levels in music theory in the Royal Conservatory of Music in London and Toronto. He also graduated with BIS level (British & Conversation) from Az State School. Omar later went to the Vancouver Film College and graduated using a level in Sound-Design For Visible Media and a few certificates of DigiDesign Protools Great Lever Operator. For quite some time Omar continues to be producing and understanding music for various clients from DJ’s to established music artists including Phillip Western in the 90s industrial band Skinny Puppy and Download. Today, Omar is definitely a sound-designer located in Western Vancouver, English Columbia. He continues to be involved with sound-design, combining and supervising for most television commercials, many documentaries and short-films. Omar’s advanced understand of media and pro-audio technology allowed him to create his own studio room in his Western Vancouver home-based business Cave Cybernation, built with the state-of-the-art digital documenting and editing equipment for audio to music and film.
