Phil Hoover was a big, beefy and brawny professional who often portrayed mean and intimidating criminals in a small number of enjoyably trashy 70s drive-in flicks. Hoover performed soccer for the School of Southern California. He started acting in movies in the first 70’s. Phil made an appearance in a number of lowdown sleazy images for exploitation film movie director Lee Frost; he’s specifically unforgettable as vicious convict Gentry in “String Gang Females,” fierce legal Doc in “Policewomen,” and slimy rapist mobster Vito in “The Dark Gestapo.” Various other notable roles consist of no-count hoodlum Tommy Hooks in the entertainingly foolish “Superchick,” a henchman for crazed gangster Timothy Carey in “Chesty Anderson, USN,” an unhelpful mechanic in Jack port Starrett’s excellent Satan worship car run after horror/action deal with “Race using the Devil,” and medication kingpin John Harkins’ brutish flunky George in the fun dope offer opus “Acapulco Silver.” Among it shows Phil do guest places on are “Hunter,” “T.J.
