Mini Biography

Ralph M. Like bought the aged Charles Ray Studios in 1927 to begin with producing low-budget photos starring his wife, celebrity Blanche Mehaffey. He created Action Photos, Inc., and started to churn out some westerns, criminal offense dramas and actions/adventure photos (even while keeping his primary job like a studio room audio engineer). In 1932 he transformed the business’s name to Mayfair Photos, but the item was still exactly the same: extremely low-budget, relatively cheesy melodramas and actioners (e.g., Midnight Morals (1932), Riot Squad (1933)) with skill on both edges of the video cameras either on the method up or on the way straight down. His pictures had been distributed via the says rights program, which designed that they essentially didn’t get very much distribution whatsoever, and the business went of business in 1934. Like returned to his audio engineer occupation, but made yet another stab at generating along with you Can’t Beat regulations (1943), a low-budget quickie for Monogram, that was his swan track as a maker.
