Jack port Donohue started being a dancer in the Ziegfeld Follies, continued being a dancer, dance movie director and dance instructor for touch dance (most prominent pupil: Eleanor Powell) in NY and in London (he starred in the Uk film Tempo in the Surroundings (1936) along with his wife Tutta Rolf). He started employed in Hollywood in 1933 being a choreographer and dance movie director, and was leader from the Dance Directors Guild from 1945-46. He also proved helpful being a movie director, generally for MGM, directing musicals and comedies.
