Given birth to and raised in the Bronx, NY, Jay began taking part in guitar in 9 and finally doing his 1st pro gig in 15 for an area cover music group. When it arrived time for university Jay made a decision to end playing and research. Every once in while he’d grab his acoustic guitar and play for his roommates who question why he wasn’t playing inside a rock band. Ultimately all that learning got Jay in medical college (Downstate Medical University in Brooklyn) where he do 2 complete years and exceeded part one of is own medical boards. Throughout that stint at med college Jay found period to visit jams in close by Manhattan clubs as well as the music insect once again little bit him. Going for a leave of lack he hasn’t appeared back since. His first gig out of med college was using the brat packer Anthony Michael Hall with whom he co-wrote several tunes along with appearing on MTV and in Rolling Rock magazine. Jay discovered himself deep in NY’s rock and roll/funk/jazz/fusion/reggae scene using a number of the best music artists around: Dennis Chambers (globally renowned jazz and funk drummer), Will Calhoun (drummer for the music group Living Color), Kenny Aronoff (drummer for Melissa Etheridge and Avril Lavigne), Richard Bona (virtuoso bassist) to mention several. He also used Caribbean story Bankie Banx of Anguilla. Touring round the Caribbean he performed huge reggae celebrations opening for UNDER-DEVELOPED and Inner Group. Some other performers Jay offers toured the globe with are Gloria Gaynor and Liza Minelli.
