At age five Dean Riesner was a kid actor (aka “Dinky Dean”) in movies like the Pilgrim (1923) with Charles Chaplin. Dean’s dad, writer/movie director Charles Reisner, caused and was close friends with Chaplin and Buster Keaton, offering youthful Dean a feet in the entranceway to a film profession. Dean could have continued while a child acting professional had his mom not told his dad, “Allow son have his years as a child”.
