Des was a favorite and well-known jazz vocalist in Australia in the 1920s and 30’s. Delivered Amy Ruwald and referred to as “THE GIRL Baritone”. She performed and documented with band head Frank Coughlan and the like. Although a superstar in her homeland, she actually is hardly known overseas.
