Jack Otterson, given birth to in Pittsburgh, Pa in 1908 was educated in Hotchkiss Preparatory College and the Artwork Students League, NY. Yale College of Good Arts, B.F.A; Paris Beaux Artwork School. Granted the John Weir scholarship or grant at Yale for 1927-28; earned honorable point out in honor of Alvord Scholarship or grant for 1928-29. Unique honorable point out in the Prix de Rome. Country wide scholarship or grant in 1928-29, and honorable point out in award of William Winchester Fellowship, 1929-30. Assisted on ornamental designs for the Empire Condition Building, NEW YORK; decorative styles in NY Architectural Little league Catalogue in 1929. In 1932, began as sketch designer with Fox Studios, after that became assistant artwork director and supervising art movie director. Moved to Common Picrures Company in 1936 as Supervising Artwork Director.
