José Crespo began his profession in theatre and, in his early twenties, started doing movies in Spain. In 1928 he relocated to Hollywood, where he became a good friend of Charles Chaplin, and experienced a potential for leading some films, especially spanish variations for Twentieth Hundred years Fox. He resided in Mexico for a few years, and returned to the united states to be the director from the Spanish Theater in NY. The entire year before he passed away, he received the Golden Medal from your Spanish Film Academy.
