After working couple of years as reporter and editor in Radio Zagreb, Kresimir Golik joined Jadran Film, recently formed production company, in 1947. After directing few documentaries he finally got opportunity to direct an attribute film. Plavi 9 (1950), becoming among the 1st comedies in rigid postwar years, brought interest of the general public. Djevojka i hrast (1955), becoming fashionable dramma, brought appraisal from the critic. In the old age Golik showed sustained genre flexibility: he was directing documentaries (_Od 3 perform 22 (1966)_ received international honours), experimental films and aided his younger co-workers in directing their debuts.
