Michael Elphick was an excellent and incredibly popular actor. He’ll be best appreciated for his function as Ken Benefit in the strike series Benefit (1986). He passed away tragically at the first age group of 55. He previously experienced ill-health for a few years, the effect of a long-running struggle with alcohol, that was exacerbated by the first loss of life of his partner of several years. Ideal remembered for ‘Benefit’, his profession was zero one-hit question. Elphick have been working in tv for days gone by 33 years and his many exceptional shows included Dennis Potter’s Play for Today: Blue Appreciated Hillsides (1979), as the bully, Peter; THE DATA (1979), when he performed a would-be London cab drivers driven nearly to despair with the sadistic examiner (performed by Nigel Hawthorne); Personal Schulz (1981), Auf Wiedersehen, Family pet (1983) and Three Up Two Down (1985). His film job was arguably less successful, but none-the-less highlighted a rich and varied vein of characterisations. His last roles became the film Deceased in water (2002), where he unfortunately had a significant small role, and millions saw his last television role, in EastEnders (1985), where he excelled in an exceedingly different role, displaying what a fine professional he was.
