The Danish documentarist Nils Vest grew up within a bourgeois environment in Sweden. When he and his family members transferred to Denmark in the 1950s he visited boarding college at Herlufsholm and afterwards got a qualification in engineering. Nevertheless, he didn’t follow the recommended path, and rather he became a film movie director with an education in the film college in Copenhagen in 1970.
