The Beau Brummels, formed in 1964 in SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA, CA, are said by some to be the first folk-rock music group. Known mostly because of their hits “Slightly”, “Have a good laugh, Have a good laugh” and “You Inform Me Why”, these were America’s initial reaction to the United kingdom Invasion, and had been often recognised incorrectly as an English music group for their audio. After suffering many profession blunders and the increased loss of guitarist (and principal songwriter) Ron Elliott, whose diabetes managed to get difficult for him to tour using the group, they disbanded in the past due ’60s.
